"The DT20 Zone" evolved in 2007 when it started out as the Top 3 feature in the 2004 editions of the "ISGD" Show in May of that year, then it was discontinued in June, and spun off into another incarnation called the "Top 9" or something like that in August.

In mid-2006, after experimenting with requests and new songs, the old idea of the "DFSX Lab" back in 2004 was resurrected as "New Strokes" playing the newest comedy and dementia songs on the ballot. The request block was finally given a name as "The Demented Resurrection Zone". The three-show block was known as the DT20 Zone, and it aired on DFSX until the weekend of July 6-8, 2007.

The DT20 Countdown show has moved to a podcast beginnning the weekend of July 13th, 2007 and has been renamed "The Mad Music Dementia Top 20 Show." It had its final airing with the December 28, 2007 podcast.

Prior to that, he began hosting his own comedy music show in 2003 called "I Still Get Demented" on a streaming service, and spun off the "Dementia Top 20" countdown show in 2004. After the streaming service was terminated in 2007, "ISGD" was held in limbo and the "DT20" moved to a podcast, but as time went on, it became apparrent that "DT20" was meant for the streaming service, while "ISGD" was meant for a podcast.

After 2007, "DT20" was retired for good, but in 2008, the "Mad Music Comedy Zone" will feature the top two songs battling it out for the number one spot each week at the end of each show, plus features such as "The Adventures of the O.B. Ranger," "Ask Dr. Science," "Whimsical Will's Demented News," songs from the vanguards of dementia such as Spike Jones, Allan Sherman, Tom Lehrer, Stan Freberg, Frank Zappa, Cheech and Chong, Dickie Goodman, and many others who don't get much airplay anymore.

With the elimination of the weekly duplicative playlists that the "DT20" was restricted to, the show can now expand to be the best weekly dementia show produced anywhere by anybody. The show can now accomodate many more requests a week, but most of the songs will be featured just once in the series so that other songs can get played.

Replacing the top 20 songs of the week was a weekly battle between two songs I call "The Demented Grudge Match II", where one song battles another song. I am currently testing a voting booth by form as well as by survey on the web in the "Grudge Match" section of this website.

On January 12, 2008, DJ Particle has resurrected the MMDT20 show and is now hosting the show on Captain Wayne's website themadmusicarchive.com

On January 21, 2008, the Demented Grudge Match has been retired and Dementiamania has taken its place.

"The Mad Music Comedy Zone" began in 2008, and features include the #1 Dementiamania song of the week, as well as features such as New Strokes and Resurrection Zone, holdovers from the old MMDT20 show, plus some features:

Resurrection Zone - I play your requests
Time Machine - a set of songs from a year in the past
Note This - a set of songs that deserve to be noticed including stuff from my archives
Four Play - a set of songs with a common theme
Out Of Left Field - D.T. plays whatever he feels like
The Adventures of the O.B. Ranger - Gary Allyn and Neil Ross teamed up in a series of radio adventures from the early days of San Diego FM radio
The David Tanny Song of the Week - yup, he'll play what he has created
Possibly, a weekly best of Whimsical Will's Demented News feature (I will date each episode that is used)
The #1 Dementiamania Song of the Week.

The 92 and 93 sections went through extensive remodeling. The playlists of all of the old DFSX and Top 20 shows have been moved to section 92, while all of the new MMCZ Show playlists will be in section 93.
